I know this post is late and I really considered skipping this one, or even changing my update schedule for this series. I powered through the past few months to update every week because this is mostly my accountability method. A lot of times, I didn’t really have much to say but I felt like I showing those graphs would help me keep myself on track. It’s also a diary of sorts to track how I was feeling every week.
Now, I feel like I have a firm grasp on what my goals are and have built better habits to help me succeed. In some ways, that means this series is not as necessary but I’ve decided to keep updating frequently to capture that diary aspect (diarrhetic aspect?)
I am please to report that dip you see right above this is me hitting “normal” BMI for my height, which is 165 pounds. I really wonder why that 5 pound drop from the beginning of the month was so dramatic. I have a theory that the body has certain configurations that it remembers and are easier for it to maintain. By this, I mean that your body can pass through certain ranges more easily and will get “stuck” at certain weights. I haven’t even looked at my own weight data that I’ve been collecting to support this claim but I think it’s weird that sometimes I will lose weight really quickly and sometimes I will hover there for weeks.
Last week, I theorized that some of my weight loss was due to losing muscle mass. Because of this, I thought that returning to Muay Thai would be very difficult for me but I did not find that to be the case. I’ve actually found that my stamina has been fine after the two week hiatus and I’ve even found things like burpees to be easier to manage. A lot of this is probably due to the weight loss itself. Carrying less weight means less work to move my body. I’m coming up on 50 classes total which means I’ll be able to test for a higher belt soon. I have an image of a young preteen child in karate class whenever I think about that.
Spending hasn’t really slowed down at all. These are larger $50-$100+ meals. I think I mostly paid for foie gras lol. If you like that sort of thing, there’s definitely a few decent plays in the DMV area. I’m not excited to spend that money but at least it isn’t a slow burn of $10 twice a day, every day for meals that I will never remember. I will most likely top $1000 this month and even if I don’t, this May will easily be the most I’ve spent on food since I started tracking.
